What Healthy Skin Really Looks Like: Cindi’s Story

3 min read

Meet Cindi.

She’s 67, but you would never guess it by looking at her skin. Honestly, her skin puts most 20-year-old skin to shame.

Cindi has been consistently microneedling with Spruce for more than seven years. Her skincare routine is actually pretty minimal, focused primarily on maintaining a healthy skin barrier and supporting general anti-aging. She isn’t on a pigment protocol, and she isn’t chasing every new skincare trend.

Her goal has always been simple: age gracefully and keep her skin healthy, strong and radiant.

And clearly, it’s working.

But recently, Cindi gave us an incredible example of why healthy skin is about so much more than what we see in the mirror.

The Part You Can’t See

In March, Cindi had skin cancer removed from her face.

The wound was significant. Looking at the photo afterward, you would naturally expect some type of visible scar, especially only a couple of months later.

Then Cindi came to my home for a photoshoot with some of our members.

She intentionally showed me her face and asked me to find her scar.

My response was simple:

“What scar?”

I genuinely couldn’t find it.

There was zero indication of a scar, and her skin had healed incredibly fast.

Cindi then jokingly, but very seriously, told me she hadn’t followed the post-care routine her dermatologist recommended. She had simply stuck with her Spruce skincare.

While I was amazed by the result, I wasn’t surprised by what her skin was capable of.

Healthy Skin Is Resilient Skin

This is what we often forget when we talk about skincare and microneeedling.

We focus on wrinkles. Pigmentation. Texture. Pores. Fine lines.

But underneath all of those cosmetic concerns, we’re building something much more important: the health and resilience of the skin itself.

When skin is healthy, it heals faster and responds more like younger skin. Think about how quickly a child’s skin tends to recover compared with older, compromised skin. That ability to repair and recover is part of what we’re trying to preserve as we age.

Cindi has spent more than seven years consistently supporting her skin with professional microneedling and the right home care.

Her results didn’t happen because of something she started doing two months ago.

They’re the result of what she has been doing for years.

Skincare Is a Long Game

Your skincare routine isn’t only about making your skin look better today.

Every time you support your barrier, every time you use products that improve the health and function of your skin, and every time you consistently microneedle, you’re investing in the skin you’ll have years from now.

That’s why consistency matters so much more than constantly chasing the newest product or treatment.

Cindi is proof of what can happen when you stop treating skincare like a quick fix and start treating it like a long-term investment in the health of your skin.

Healthy skin is beautiful skin. Healthy skin is resilient skin. And we should all be so lucky to have skin like Cindi’s at 67.

Cindi's original photos before starting with Spruce compared to now are below. The difference in her skin health and youthful volume is incredible. No fillers. No botox. Just effective skincare protocols and consistent microneedling. Also note that she is NOT using a pigment correction protocol. Our focus is anti-aging here.
