IF HER SKIN WAS DOING SO WELL… WHY DID WE CHANGE HER PROTOCOL?

Look at these photos.
Her pigment was improving.
Her skin was healthier.
Her tone was becoming more even.
Her overall skin quality was clearly moving in the right direction.
So why would I change anything?
Because her skin changed.
And this is something I want every Spruce patient to understand.
We didn’t change her protocol because it stopped working.
We changed it because it DID work.
The skin she had when she started is not the skin you’re looking at in this after photo.
In the beginning, her skin needed one set of priorities. We needed to strengthen it, control inflammation, support the barrier, suppress pigment and prepare her skin for correction.
Then we corrected.
And as her pigment improved and her skin became stronger, healthier and more resilient, her needs changed.
Keeping her on the exact same protocol simply because it had been successful wouldn’t make sense.
Think about physical therapy after an injury.
You don’t continue doing the same exercises you did on Day 1 once you’re six months into recovery.
The exercises change.
The intensity changes.
The goals change.
Your skin is no different.
We do this with patients ALL THE TIME.
Sometimes we increase something.
Sometimes we decrease it.
Sometimes we remove something completely.
Sometimes we introduce something new.
Sometimes we transition from correction into maintenance.
And sometimes we change direction because your skin is telling us it’s ready for something different.
That is exactly why your check-ins, photos and feedback matter.
I’m looking at where your skin is now, not blindly repeating what we prescribed months ago.
And there’s another piece to this.
We change too.
I am constantly evaluating ingredients, formulations, concentrations, products and our protocols. If we find a better way to get healthier skin, improve results or reduce complications, I’m going to use it.
I will never keep you on something simply because “that’s what we’ve always done.”
So when your protocol changes, don’t automatically assume something went wrong.
Sometimes the exact opposite is true.
Your protocol changed because your skin changed.
The goal was never to find one routine and keep you on it forever.
The goal is to continue giving your skin what it needs at every stage of the journey.
I’m not treating the face you came to me with.
I’m treating the face you have today.
And I’ll keep changing the plan as that face changes.
