Microneedling is appropriate for all skin types and all skin tones. We have performed microneedling tens of thousands of times, and we have yet to come across a patient whose skin could not benefit from it.

The protocol may vary depending on the individual, but the goal is the same: healthier, stronger, more rejuvenated skin.

Question 3

How much downtime should I expect?

There is virtually no downtime with our microneedling treatment.

You may be slightly pink immediately after your appointment, but typically by the end of the day, no one would know you had anything done.

Over the following week, you may experience some mild dryness or light flaking. This is generally minimal.

You can return to your normal skincare routine the following day and resume normal daily activities. We simply ask that you avoid swimming and saunas for 72 hours after treatment.

Does microneedling hurt?

Microneedling can be a little uncomfortable, but it is generally not considered painful.
We perform hundreds of microneedling treatments every month for the past 14 years, and the majority of our patients return month after month, with appointments booked months in advance. If it were truly that painful, convincing people to voluntarily come back every month would be very difficult.

Most patients are surprised by how quickly the treatment is over and how manageable it is.

How long does the appointment take?

The actual microneedling procedure itself typically takes only 10–15 minutes. But your first appointment is scheduled for one hour. This gives us plenty of time to evaluate your skin, explain the treatment and answer any questions you may have without feeling rushed.

How many treatments will I need?

Microneedling, like every effective treatment in the aesthetics industry, requires consistency and ongoing treatments to maintain results.

It is also one of the most underestimated treatments in aesthetics, largely because it isn’t the most profitable treatment to perform. But when it comes to creating actual changes within the skin, microneedling is incredibly powerful because it stimulates cellular rejuvenation and the production of collagen and elastin.

A single microneedling treatment can continue creating changes in the skin for up to approximately four months. That means when you receive your second treatment, your first treatment is still working. By the time you reach your fourth monthly treatment, you can essentially have the effects of multiple treatments working simultaneously.

That cumulative effect is one of the things we love most about microneedling.
Most of our patients come monthly, and we recommend monthly treatments for at least the first 6–8 months. After that, patients who want to decrease their frequency may move to every other month. We do not recommend going longer than every other month if your goal is to continue building and maintaining your results.

Once treatments stop, those ongoing effects gradually diminish. The same principle applies to essentially every aesthetic treatment and skincare product: consistency is what maintains the result.

What should I do before my appointment?

Accepted Answer

There really isn’t much you need to do to prepare.

Please arrive without facial makeup on time. Eye makeup is perfectly fine.
If possible, avoid taking ibuprofen for approximately 24 hours before your appointment, but this is not required.

Otherwise, simply arrive as scheduled. We’ll take care of the rest.
